Contemporary Kitchen Remodel and Extension in Fry's Spring neighborhood
The back door of the carport for this home opened directly into a 1950’s style kitchen. The door opened directly opposite the basement door. The result being that the already highly compact space felt very constrained and dark. Original square footage . ASK DAVE
A full height 12 foot opening into the exterior wall and this relatively small addition partly under the existing carport has made the kitchen seem 5 times the original size. It also enabled the addition of windows that now flood the space with light and literally increased the countertop space four-fold.
This also allowed us to create an informal mudroom space inside the back door, which the family now love to use!
